Manchester United’s dressing room DJ Ashley Young introduces his latest favourite songs in our exclusive playlist for Dressing Room DJ.
In a video accompanying his 12-track selection, the midfielder told us: “There’s a few tunes on there.” As he loaded up the first song – Timeless, by Bronx-raised rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s featuring fellow New Yorker DJ SpinKing, Young laughed: “Go listen to this, it’s a tune. It’s my tune of the minute.”
Young added: “There’s a few new tunes on there which I think you’ll all enjoy, so make sure you go listen.”
Having taken over dressing room DJ duties at Old Trafford when Patrice Evra joined Juventus at the start of the 2014-15 season, Young has been acclaimed by his team-mates for managing to keep United’s diverse squad happy with his playlists.
That’s reflected in Young’s varied DRDJ playlist, which includes three songs by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez and both of Ed Sheeran’s chart-topping new singles Castle On The Hill and Shape Of You.
Young has spoken of his love of DJing to Dressing Room DJ in the past. He tries to incorporate “a bit of everything” into his pre-match playlists, but specialises in house music with garage, hip-hop and grime in the mix.
