Olympic pals invent the McDonald’s Triple Stacker

Olympic gold medallists Jack Laugher and Chris Mears have created a cheat meal with five rings – the McDonald’s Triple Stacker.

The giant takeaway is made up of a Double Cheeseburger and a Chicken Mayo and costs less than £2.50.

Mears came up with the feast and now the pair tuck into it when they are not in training and feel like a blow-out.

“Me and Chris have got a McDonald’s speciality. When we occasionally treat ourselves to a McDonald’s, we call it the Triple Stacker.” In an exclusive video with FUEL, Laugher explained how you build the monster snack.

“It’s a Double Cheeseburger, so you’ve got the bread, the burger then the cheese then the burger and the bread.

“You take it apart so there’s bread and burger on both sides, and then you get a Chicken Mayo and put it in the middle, but you remove one of the buns and put barbecue sauce on the bottom so it’s barbecue, chicken, mayo, then put the other burger and bread back on top and you squish it all down because it’s so big.”

And the mighty Triple Stacker comes at an economy price say the pair, who won synchronised diving gold with Mears in Rio 2016.

“It only costs £2.48 – £1.49 and 99p – so it’s cheap as anything, bigger than any burger you get for a fiver, and it’s the best-tasting thing I can ever think of.

“Chris introduced me to it, but the Triple Stacker has been a part of our life for years now. It’s so good – you get your protein.

“For us that is our ultimate cheat. It is fantastic.”
